The Beaufort Street Festival is back for 2011 and it’s bringing punters the finest selection of local music. Seven stages will host a range of acts, including reclusive folk artist  Louis Inglis, Bastian’s Happy Flight, Sean Pollard of Split Seconds, Timothy Nelson & The Infidels, Hayley Beth, Rabbit Island and Wrighteous. The line-up for the Life’s A Beach Music Festival is looking more and more inviting, with the second lot of acts being announced. Joining the already impressive line-up of The Beautiful Girls, Salmonella Dub, Katalyst, Muph & Plutonic, Bonjah, and Ladi 6, will be Space Invadas, Dialectrix, Sticky Fingers, and local bands The Joe Kings and The Stoops. There will also be skate and BMX demonstrations, a variety of quality food, and a refreshing sea breeze given the coastal Rockingham location. The whole internet was abuzz last week as INXS’ millions of fans across the world tried to guess who was singing on the demo track Tiny Summer the band had posted on their website. Many reported it as being Bono, but they were wrong as it is actually Ciaran Gribbin, the band’s new frontman. Irishman Gribbin has been around the block once or twice and has worked with the likes of Snow Patrol, Madonna and Paul McCartney. See him front INXS when the band plays Fremantle Esplanade on Saturday, December 3, as part of the World Sailing Championships, with support from Grinspoon. THE VASCO ERA AND PAPA VS PRETTY TOUR

In celebration of their soon-to-be release album self-titled album, The Vasco Era are joining up with Papa vs Pretty for a double-headline national tour.

The album, which is due for release on October 14, was recorded live at Melboourne’s Sound Park Studios.

Papa vs Pretty’s recent album United In Isolation was successfully released in May this year and so, both bands will be playing songs from their newest album on the tour.

When the bands hit WA, they’ll be playing at Prince of Wales in Bunbury on November 10, The Rosemount Hotel on November 11 and Mojo’s on November 12, offering you plenty of opportunity to snag some of the action.

Supported by Triple J and presented by Channel V and Stree Press Australia, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Soul Project is welcoming back Melbourne DJ and producer Sonny Fodera for the popular USA House Tribute night. Having released a bunch of bangers on Drop Music, Guesthouse, 4Kenzo and Nervous Records, Fodera has made a name for himself as one of Australia’s top house DJs. He’s played alongside the likes of AudioJack, Derrick Carter and Chuck Love. Catch some quality house music with a touch of funk, jazz and hip hop flavours on Saturday, October 1, at Geisha Bar. Last week Faker announced plans for the release of their new album Get Loved, and to back it up they’ve revealed they’ll be touring Australia for the first time in three years. The tour will see the Sydney rockers perform 14 dates across five states and territories with their new line-up, with Chris Stabback and Liam O’Brian joining Nathan Hudson and Nichols Munnings to form a powerhouse four-piece. Faker are set to play The Prince Of Wales in Bunbury on Wednesday, October 26; Settlers Tavern in Margs on Thursday, October 27; and Amplifier on Friday, October 28. Tickets are available through Oztix for the regional shows, and through Moshtix for the Amps gig.

The hugely successful collaboration between Sally Seltmann, Sarah Blasko and Holly Throsby, Seeker Lover Keeper is heading out on one last tour across this land before they resume their individual careers. Entitled the Heavenly Sounds tour, the trio along with bassist David Symes and drummer Bree van Reyk, will take to St Joseph’s Church in Subiaco on Thursday, December 1, for an all ages show. Their last WA show at The Astor Theatre sold out quickly, so be sure head to Ticketek when tickets go on sale at 10am next Tuesday.
