They’ll be previewing new work from Rain On The Humming Wire with a national tour in July, ending at The Bakery on Friday, July 22. Tickets available from nowbaking.com.au and Heatseeker.

CORNELL UNPLUGGED

Grammy Award winning artist Chris Cornell is coming to Perth with an intimate, acoustic tour. Although he’s better known for rocking out on stage with bands such as Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple Of The Dog, Cornell’s new stage show strips back his performance to just a guitar and his voice, which critics call one of the best voices in rock and roll.

KINGS OF HORSES

KINGS OF HORSES

Kings of Leon are definitely attempting to make it up to fans after postponing their March tour – they’ve announced that they’re bringing fellow US indie-rockers Band of Horses with them on their November jaunt around Australia. The tour had to be postponed after drummer Nathan Followill required shoulder surgery, but he’s recovered and the band are sounding better than ever, if their reception at this year’s Coachella festival is anything to go by. They’ll be performing at the nib stadium on Saturday, November 19. Tickets are $107.60-$135.70 and available from Ticketmaster.

WORLDS COLLIDE

WORLDS COLLIDE

Children Collide are back with their new single Loveless. The track, taken from their Theory Of Everything album, is a more sombre and personal track than we’re used to from a band who featured an endoscopy in one of their music videos. Their new video for Loveless, however, was directed by David Michod of Animal Kingdom fame, so it’s safe to say the days of shock tactics might be over.

EUPHORIC TRANQUILIZERS

EUPHORIC TRANQUILIZERS

Scottish indie kids Glasvegas will be playing headline shows – for the first time in Australia – as well as the Splendour In The Grass festival when they come over in July. Their new album EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\ was released early last month, with a new drummer and produced by Flood, otherwise known as U2’s producer. Despite all the drama surrounding the album’s release – reports of in-band fighting, the lead singer allegedly overdosing on animal tranquilizers at Coachella – the album is just what these Scots are famous for: indie rock anthems with a retro flavour and plenty of catchy hooks. They’ll be playing at the Rosemount on Friday, July 22, with tickets going on sale this Friday, May 27, through Ticketek.
