NICKS FIX

Dig out your billowing chiffon skirts and unlock your lace because legendary songstress Stevie Nicks is heading to Australia with her latest solo album in tow, In Your Dreams. She’ll be joined by special Dave Stewart from Eurythmics, who produced and co-wrote much of the album, and they’ll both be performing solo material as well as songs from their respective bands. Nicks has experienced something of a renaissance this year with Fleetwood Mac’s seminal Rumours album returning to the upper echelons of the ARIA album charts, possibly due to television watchers heading out to buy the real thing after being disgusted by the cast of Glee’s shocking renditions of songs from the album. Nicks and Stewart hit up nib Stadium on Saturday, November 26. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, July 6, through ticketmaster.com.au.

MEAT LOVERS

He’d do anything for love… but he won’t do that. Yes, Meat Loaf is back on his appropriately named Guilty Pleasures tour to perform all of his epic hits like Bat Out Of Hell, Dead Ringer For Love and Paradise By The Dashboard Light. He’ll also be performing at the AFL Grand Final on his tour to Australia – going head to head with his nemesis, the meat pie. Hopefully Gary Busey won’t be in the audience! Catch him at nib Stadium on Saturday, October 22. Tickets available from Ticketmaster.

PYKE HIKE

Josh Pyke fans have had a long year of waiting, but the singer-songwriter is back with his much anticipated third album, Only Sparrows. The infectiously upbeat first single No One Wants A Lover gives fans a taste of the new album, which is his most assured and accomplished album yet, following his ARIA award winning albums Memories & Dust and Chimney’s Afire.  He’ll be touring nationally with a full backing band this September, and stopping in Perth at The Fly By Night on Friday, September 30, and at The Astor on Saturday, October 1. Tickets are available from flybynight.org and BOCS.

FRUIT FROM THE VINES

FRUIT FROM THE VINES

The Vines have exploded back onto the scene with their new album Future Primitive. The infamous Craig Nicholls says this album is all about the two minute rock song, as shown by the first single, the 110 second Gimme Love (with a very cool Scott Pilgrim inspired video). They’ll be playing a national tour in support of the new album, joined by the formidable Papa Vs Pretty. Catch them at Capitol on Saturday, September 10, or if you just can’t wait that long, they’ll be at The Astor on Wednesday, June 22, as part of Nova’s Live At The Astor series. Tickets for the Capitol show are available from Moshtix and Heatseeker, and you can pick up tickets for The Astor Theatre show from BOCS.

GOOD GOLLY MS DOLLY

GOOD GOLLY MS DOLLY

She’s the queen of country music and almost as famous for her voluptuous figure and gaudy dress sense as she is for her voice. And Dolly Parton is returning to Australia for a nationwide tour in November. She’s had a hugely successful career with hits like Islands In The Stream, 9 To 5 and Jolene, and starred in films like 9 To 5 and The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas – not to mention having the dubious honour of being the namesake of the world’s first cloned sheep. She’ll be performing at the Burswood Dome on Tuesday, November 8. Tickets are available from Ticketek for $99-$299.
