Vinyl Retention: Good Looking Records

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Every Wednesday, Sardi lets us know what’s tickling his eardrums in the world of electronic music…

Good Looking Records is one of the most prestigious labels in the Drum & Bass world. Known in the past for pioneering the atmospheric sound and then nurturing in a new era of musical D&B with the advent of Liquid Funk, it left a gaping hole for others to fill when they went silent for a few years. Persistent rumours of a relaunch of the label seemed to surface every six months, but up until now, they were only rumours. The wait is over.

With a reboot including remixes of two classic LTJ Bukem tracks under their belt, the latest GLR release sees a hoard of previously signed music finally see the light of day. ‘The Sessions’ is a collection of tracks from the who’s who of the current musical D&B world as well as old favourites EZ Rollers dropping seven tracks of sublime deep & funky rolling grooves. It’s a great package and serves as an introduction to where the label is at and where it’s headed.

Keep an eye out for the second part ‘Pre Sessions’ due later this week.
