Ta-Ku/Suff Daddy

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

Every Wednesday, Sardi lets us know what’s tickling his eardrums in the world of electronic music…

East meets west as local bad boy Ta-Ku drops a split LP with Sydney based (via Berlin) beat maker Suff Daddy. The fourteen track release titled ‘Brocks & Mortar’ sees each producer present seven cuts of ridiculously fat Hip Hop jams.

The liner notes say it best:

The highs and lows bricks and mortar concept was established under the idea of two separate entities uniting to create something fresh and unique: be it through two different brands, two different shoes or two contrasting colour schemes – much like the binding of two sovereign elements to birth something whole, so is the sonic association between Suff Daddy and Ta-Ku for the accompanying “Bricks and Mortar” EP by working in alignment with the bricks and mortar canon. Suff Daddy and Ta-Ku collaborate to showcase the output that occurs when two producers from two different sides of the equator share familiar lane.

If you like what you hear, be sure to tune in to RTRFM’s Full Frequency between 3pm & 5pm, as Sardi and Dart explore the latest beats & bass from around the globe.
