It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Montreal’s Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra, so news that there’s a new record on the way (named Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything) is particularly pleasing. We’ve got a sample of the album in the form of an excerpt of “Austerity Blues”, which starts out a lot more mellow than is to be expected from a SMZ track, before building into trademark snarl and bite — brilliant as usual.
Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything is out next year on January 21.
